Fibre to the premises was available at 87 percent of premises in Ireland at the end of Q2 2026, with every county reaching at least 80 percent coverage.

What this tells us
Demand for solar PV is growing quickly, while heat pump installations are increasing too, though from a much smaller base. Among homes reassessed for a Building Energy Rating, a substantial number have already moved up at least a full rating category, a useful sign that upgrades are having a measurable effect. Fibre broadband availability is also continuing to expand, with FTTP now available to the large majority of premises across every county.
