What you can report

If you spot something on Upgrader.ie that looks factually wrong, out of date or unclear, we want to know. This includes things like an incorrect grant amount, a rule that has changed, a broken link, a source that no longer says what a page claims it says, or a figure that does not match the source cited.

How to report a correction

Email info@magenta.ie with details of what you think is wrong. This address is monitored directly by the operator of Upgrader.ie.

To help us check it quickly, it is useful to include:

• The web address (URL) of the page.
• The specific claim, figure or sentence you think is incorrect.
• Why you think it is wrong, ideally with a link or reference to a current, reliable source.

How we assess a correction request

When we receive a correction request, we check the claim against a current, primary source, such as the relevant Government department, regulator or statutory body, before making a change. Not every request results in a change to the page: we distinguish between three different situations.

• A factual error, such as a figure, date or rule that does not match a current, reliable source. Once verified, we correct it.
• Updated information, such as a grant amount, tariff or rule that has genuinely changed since the page was last checked. We update the page to reflect the current position.
• A difference of opinion, such as disagreement with how something is explained, presented or worded, rather than a factual inaccuracy. We consider this feedback, but it does not always lead to a change, and it is not treated as a correction in the same sense as a factual error.

Commercial partners cannot suppress a correction

A commercial partner named on Upgrader.ie has no ability to prevent, delay or water down a correction. Corrections are made on the basis of what a current, reliable source says, regardless of any commercial relationship. Minor edits and significant corrections

Minor spelling, formatting, grammar or clarity edits are made as part of normal maintenance and do not usually carry a published correction note. Where a correction is significant, for example because it changes a figure, a conclusion or advice a reader might act on, we aim to note or date the update on the page where it is useful for a reader to know the page has changed.

Response times

Upgrader.ie is maintained by a small, independently operated team, so we cannot promise a fixed response or correction time. We aim to look at correction requests promptly and to correct material errors once they are verified.
